Joy Comes from Living the Life You were meant to Live!!

So the weather is beginning to cool off here in Lincoln Nebraska, but the missionary work is just beginning to catch fire! We have had the chance to visit pretty much everyone in the ward, get each family excited about missionary work and Heavenly Father continues to place people who are looking for the direction and hope of the gospel in our path. We have met sooo many wonderful people and their testimonies and strength inspire me! This week, we met a family who are refugees from a war torn country, where Christians are beat or killed. To hear of their determination and perseverance to follow our Savior truly humbled me. We are so blessed to live in this wonderful country, to worship God, and even to be able to freely share what we believe with others.
I am so deeply grateful for the many wonderful opportunities I have in my life, especially that of being a missionary. Though I have been out close to eight months now, I still wake up feeling like the happiest person in the world, because I know this is exactly where I am suppose to be. My quote of the week..."Joy comes from living the life you were meant to live." I know as each of us continue to live our lives as Christ would, we will have incomprehensible joy, for that is the life each of us is meant to live,"Adam fell that men might be, men are that they might have joy!"( 2 Nephi 2:25)

FAITH

This week has been all about Faith, in sooo many ways! I began reading the New Testament, and the beautiful simplicity of Faith is on every page. Jesus Christ heals and performs miracles based on the Faith of those around him: "Ask and we shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you." Though the concept of Faith is simple, the application of it is quite harder. In order to help myself better understand how to exercise my Faith, I came up with a thing I call the Faith Cycle. First step, is of course faith, which leads to hope to keep moving forward, then that hope leads to love, love leads to obedience, because we follow God's commandments out of love for him, then obedience is what builds faith, and you begin the cycle all over again! While traveling through this Faith Cycle however, we must exhibit confidence in the Lord, optimism, enthusiasm, and patient perseverance.
A way and path for us has already been prepared by our Savior Jesus Christ. We are able to have the assurance that this life has purpose, that we each have a plan. All that is required of us, is effort, a sacrifice of our own will, and courage to face anything. This takes time and a whole lot of work and complete reliance upon Christ and his Atonement, but to become who Heavenly Father wants us to be is our purpose here on this earth, and we can do it!!:)

The Big City of Lincoln, Nebraska

Who hoo, this week was pretty crazy. Being in the big city of Lincoln and having no idea what is going on and where things and people are was a bit trying, but it is the truth that faith proceeds miracles. Coming into this unknown area and training bore a lot of responsibility and pressure, however, Heavenly Father is so very aware of me and my circumstances. Though I had no idea what I was doing, I just went out and did, that is when wonderful things started happening. We received 5 referrals from missionaries of people to teach, a GPS(we still get lost haha), so much ward support, and to top it all off, we were able to go to the temple on Friday!!!!
To be inside the temple, I felt free from worry and stress, I felt love, peace and encouragement and most importantly,re energized! The temple truly is heaven on earth!! After the temple trip, we had interviews with our mission president, and he shared D&C 88:84 with me and just kept on telling me how proud he was of me and how he knows great things are going to be happening in our area very soon. So when life gets difficult and trying, just remember, as said in conference "everything will work out." As we show forth our faith by being patient, we open up the doors of heaven for our loving father to bless us!
